Dr. Stacey Beddoe
Dr. Stacey Beddoe is originally from Springfield, MO. She graduated from Willard High School and then attended Drury University. While pursuing a BS degree in both Biology and Chemistry, she worked as a veterinary technician at Cottage Veterinary Hospital. She was admitted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of MO-Columbia after only 3 years at Drury. While in Vet School, she participated in the Raptor Rehabilitation program and still helps now as a medical advisor for the project. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. In July of 2007, she became the new owner of Southwest Animal Hospital. She attends Cornerstone Baptist Church where she is a member of the JOY puppet team. She and her husband are now licensed foster parents, so the number and age of the children living at home vary, but they are working toward adopting one of their foster kids, a young boy. Her 6 pets at home also keep her very busy; however, she still finds time for running, swimming, and movies.
Dr. Hilary Haslag (Vellios) received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri and on August 1st of 2013, she joined Southwest Animal Hospital. Since joining the SWAH team her intersts have grown to enjoy managing oncology patients and occupational therapy. Her background in large animals is kept alive with her and her husband's cow/calf herd. Her family has expanded and when she is not working, she can be found enjoying time with her husband and daughter. Her activities include quilting/sewing, jewelry making, walking, gardening, fishing, hunting, and baking.
Dr. Abigail Roe
Dr. Abigail Roe (Stone) grew up in Wardsville, MO and graduated from Helias High School. She attended Missouri Western State University and got her BS degree in Biology with an emphasis in Health Sciences. She worked at a Veterinary Clinic in undergrad, while also playing College Basketball. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016. She was married that same month. She joined Southwest Animal Hospital shortly after. Her house is kept busy with 2 dogs Beau and Owen, and a rabbit named Thumper. In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband Tyler and son, Eli.
Dr. Matthew Allen
Dr. Allen's passion for veterinary medicine started here at Southwest over a decade ago under the mentorship of Dr. Beddoe. Dr. Allen completed his degree at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia. After graduating he practiced in Las Vegas where he had the opportunity to work on a diverse group of pets and a full spectrum of care. He was able to hone his skills in dentistry, orthopedics, and cardiovascular health to hopefully help fill a need here in mid Missouri.
Dr. Lily Prado
Dr. Lily Prado was born and raised in Orange County California. She has been a part of the veterinary industry for nearly 15 years, working as a veterinary technician for 5 years while earning her bachelors in Animal and Veterinary Science. Following her undergraduate studies she worked for one year as a customer service representative at Antech Diagnostics, a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. She then started veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean and completed her clinical training at the University of Illinois. Dr. Prado is the proud momma of French Bulldog named Chewy (who you can often see helping out up at reception), a Golden Retriever named Charlie, a crazy Boston Terrier named Kermit, an English Bulldog named Koopa, a Manx Cat named Pac-Man and a Persian Cat named Sebastian. Dr. Prado holds the human animal bond in high regard and works hard to strengthen that bond among her clients and their pets. In her free time Dr. Prado enjoys watching documentaries, listening to music, scrapbooking and attempting to cook.
