Meet Our Doctors

  • Dr. Stacey Beddoe

    Dr. Stacey Beddoe is originally from Springfield, MO. She graduated from Willard High School and then attended Drury University. While pursuing a BS degree in both Biology and Chemistry, she worked as a veterinary technician at Cottage Veterinary Hospital. She was admitted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of MO-Columbia after only 3 years at Drury. While in Vet School, she participated in the Raptor Rehabilitation program and still helps now as a medical advisor for the project. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. In July of 2007, she became the new owner of Southwest Animal Hospital. She attends Cornerstone Baptist Church where she is a member of the JOY puppet team. She and her husband are now licensed foster parents, so the number and age of the children living at home vary, but they are working toward adopting one of their foster kids, a young boy. Her 6 pets at home also keep her very busy; however, she still finds time for running, swimming, and movies.

  • Dr. Hilary Haslag

    Dr. Hilary Haslag (Vellios) grew up in Wildwood, MO and graduated from Lafayette High School. While in high school and continuing into college, she worked as a technician at the Nestle Purina PetCare center in Gray Summit, MO. She attended the University of Missouri and obtained a bachelor degree in Animal Sciences. While earning her degree, she continued work at Purina, worked in 2 vet dairy research labs, and worked in the vet school ICU on the Emergency After Hours Clinic Crew. She finished her undergraduate degree in 3 years and then started her master's degree in stress physiology with cattle. One year later she was admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia. In July of 2013, she received her doctorate of veterinary medicine and on August 1st of 2013, she joined Southwest Animal Hospital. Her activities include jewelry making, reading, walking, and spending time with her husband Chris, in their house in the country where she enjoys gardening, woodwork, fishing, hunting, and baking.

  • Dr. Lauren Prenger

    Dr. Lauren Prenger (Holliday) grew up in California MO, and graduated from California High School. She attended Lincoln University and got her BS degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in animal sciences. She worked at a Veterinary Clinic for 7 years during high school and undergrad. She attended the University of Missouri Veterinary School and graduated in May 2014. She started working at Southwest Animal Hospital in June of 2014. She recently got married in September 2014. She stays busy with her 2 dogs, 2 cats, and guinea pig. She loves to spend time with her family and pets and enjoys outdoor activities. Her other passion is a haunted house that her and her father build every year for the community to enjoy.

  • Dr. Abigail Roe

    Dr. Abigail Roe (Stone) grew up in Wardsville, MO and graduated from Helias High School. She attended Missouri Western State University and got her BS degree in Biology with an emphasis in Health Sciences. She worked at a Veterinary Clinic in undergrad, while also playing College Basketball. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016. She was married that same month. She joined Southwest Animal Hospital shortly after. Her house is kept busy with 2 dogs Nike and Owen, and a rabbit named Thumper. She loves to spend time outdoors with her family, friends, and pets.
