Dr. Stacey Beddoe
Dr. Stacey Beddoe is originally from Springfield, MO. She graduated from Willard High School and then attended Drury University. While pursuing a BS degree in both Biology and Chemistry, she worked as a veterinary technician at Cottage Veterinary Hospital. She was admitted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of MO-Columbia after only 3 years at Drury. While in Vet School, she participated in the Raptor Rehabilitation program and still helps now as a medical advisor for the project. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. In July of 2007, she became the new owner of Southwest Animal Hospital. She attends Cornerstone Baptist Church where she is a member of the JOY puppet team. She and her husband are now licensed foster parents, so the number and age of the children living at home vary, but they are working toward adopting one of their foster kids, a young boy. Her 6 pets at home also keep her very busy; however, she still finds time for running, swimming, and movies.
Dr. Hilary Haslag
Dr. Hilary Haslag (Vellios) received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri and on August 1st of 2013, she joined Southwest Animal Hospital. Since joining the SWAH team her intersts have grown to enjoy managing oncology patients and occupational therapy. Her background in large animals is kept alive with her and her husband’s cow/calf herd. Her family has expanded and when she is not working, she can be found enjoying time with her husband and daughter. Her activities include quilting/sewing, jewelry making, walking, gardening, fishing, hunting, and baking.
Dr. Abigail Roe
Dr. Abigail Roe (Stone) grew up in Wardsville, MO and graduated from Helias High School. She attended Missouri Western State University and got her BS degree in Biology with an emphasis in Health Sciences. She worked at a Veterinary Clinic in undergrad, while also playing College Basketball. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016. She was married that same month. She joined Southwest Animal Hospital shortly after. Her house is kept busy with 2 dogs Beau and Owen, and a rabbit named Thumper. In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband Tyler and son, Eli.
Robert is a native of Springfield, MO and is Dr. Stacey Beddoe’s husband. They met as instant high school sweethearts in their church’s youth group and have been a team ever since! After dating while in college, Robert and Dr. Beddoe were married the summer of 2001, during the few weeks of break between Dr. Beddoe’s first and second year of veterinary school. Robert has been an active part of Dr. Beddoe’s education and experience. He would come into the teaching hospital to help Dr. Beddoe with her treatments while she was in school. He then assisted in emergency calls and surgeries when she began to practice and still does. This experience has given him a breadth of knowledge that has abundantly equipped him to assist you and your pets at the front desk as the head receptionist. When he isn’t at the office, he enjoys an active lifestyle that includes biking, rock climbing, fishing, and swimming. He and Dr. Beddoe also stay busy with their two adopted children, Brenden and Michaela.
Lisa joined the Southwest Animal Hospital family in May 2006. She began as a kennel technician and quickly advanced to a veterinary assistant, now Lisa has an integral role as supervisor to our technicians in our hospital. Lisa trains all technicians and ensures that our veterinarians are fully facilitated during all procedures. She is responsible for ordering and managing pharmaceutical and medical inventory. Some of her responsibilities include preparing the exam rooms, assists the Veterinarians, administering medications, sub-q fluids, take and develops x-rays, and operates the laboratory equipment.
Lisa has a cat named Sophia and a ferret named Lillian. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Ashley- Ashley grew up in Vienna, MO, and after
joining the SWAH team in 2016, she decided to make the move to Jefferson City in 2017. She loves spending her time going on walks with her 3 dogs and reading in her free time. Ashley says, “I have enjoyed being able to help keep everyone’s loved ones healthy and living a long happy life!”
Kaylyn is our evening Veterinary Technician. She came to Southwest Animal Hospital in July of 2009 as a Kennel Technician. Kaylyn was also our Groomer for several years before transferring to her new position. As our evening Technician, Kaylyn is responsible for assisting the doctor, clients, and patients. She runs chemistry panels, reads various tests, and develops x-rays. In her spare time, Kaylyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her pets, and riding four-wheelers.
Amanda is our full-time veterinary technician. She joined the team in August of 2010 originally as a receptionist. Some of her duties include preparing the exam rooms, assisting the doctors, administering medications and treatments, taking x-rays, and assisting with emergencies. Amanda is a 2005 graduate of Maple Woods Community College, She has over 10 years experience working in Veterinary clinics. Amanda has two cats, Faith and Spooky. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and with her pets.
Nikki joined the SWAH Team as an evening receptionist in June of 2017. She attended college in Sedalia, MO at the State Fair Community College where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Agriculture and Artificial Insemination in cattle. She loves being outdoors with her boyfriend and 2 dogs, Moose and Jewel. She also enjoys trail riding with her horses, Gunner and Misty.
Kim is a Jefferson City native and graduated from JCHS and attended Lincoln University. She joined the SWAH family in 2005 as a kennel technician.
She quickly advanced to a receptionist and a groomer. After a brief period of being a stay-at-home Mom to her 2 kiddos she has come back to work for us as a receptionist. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, running her kids around to sporting activities, hanging out with her husband, family, and friends, reading and playing with her 2 dogs, Sadie(puggle) and Ellie (white lab), and her cat Macy.
